Ever think about bringing props to one of your shoots? If you book a session with me, it’s something that I welcome! In this post, I’ll share some photoshoot prop ideas that you can bring along with you to make your session stand out. I’ll also share some of the props that I have!

I generally bring props with me to my photo sessions for clients to choose from. For example, Spring Minis usually entail a white tent with greenery, wicker baskets and realistic baby chicks that chirp. Then for Christmas, I have an assortment of props, including ornaments, Santa’s mailbox, a white stool, mini Christmas tree, cozy blankets, etc.

For custom cake smash sessions, I typically bring the white tent with greenery, white stool, baskets, blanket, and a clear plastic tray for the cake. However, I do not provide the actual cake (most photographers do not offer this due to allergy reasons).

For both mini sessions and full sessions, I provide my clients with the option of using any, all or none of my props. I like bringing them anyway, just so the option is there! Id’ rather provide more options than not enough. In order to make your photoshoot stand out and be more personal to you, I welcome and encourage you to bring your own props!

Letter Board

Letter boards are useful for all kinds of photo sessions. Maternity, engagement, milestones, you name it. These are so customizable for documenting your special event!

Ultrasound Photo

This can probably go without saying, but an ultrasound photo is a great idea to bring on a maternity session!

Accessory

This bow is an adorable accessory! Think about what accessories you have for your little one. A bow, a bandana, bowtie, etc.

Hat

Whether you’re in Nashville or at the beach, a hat is a great way to dress up an outfit! Hats can portray a whole vibe.

Flowers

This mom brought beautiful flowers (calla lilies) for her sweet daughter Calla who turned 1. I provided the tent, pillows and cake tray while mom provided the cake, flowers and wooden crates.

Toys

For this session, the toys that were brought with this little boy ended up in the shoot! It resulted in some very cute and sweet moments!
