I know it is important to may people that you look your best in family photos to create lasting memories. But sometimes, attempting to create these perfect photos can be pretty stressful. Allow me to share some tips to help you have stress free family photos this year.
Getting enough sleep the night before a family photo is an important way to ensure you are ready for pictures the next day. Families that are well rested are usually more relaxed and better able to handle a longer photo session with your experienced family photographer. Also, more rest can decrease the tired looking bags under your eyes!
Spend time a few weeks ahead of the scheduled photo session making sure you have everyone’s outfits picked out and ready for the big day. There’s nothing like a last minute wardrobe issue or change in outfits to add stress to the session. It’s no easy task to coordinate clothing, especially if you have a larger family, so be sure to make time in your schedule to have it done early to reduce potential stress.
Believe it or not, the parents often set the tone for family photos. If mom and dad are relaxed, then the kids can be relaxed and enjoy having their picture taken. It trickles down! If mom or dad are feeling overwhelmed or stressed, then the children will likely feel the mood and become overwhelmed as well. I see it time and time again. Set the tone for the day by being inspired and determined to have a fun, relaxing, special day together. Relaxed, natural photos usually always make for better pictures than stiff, posed photos. Try to go with the flow and let your experienced family photographer capture some wonderful moments.
Choosing the right family photographer will make a huge difference for the outcome of your family pictures. Letting the photographer know want out of this session ahead of time can significantly reduce your stress come picture time. If you book with me, you will receive a questionnaire so I can see all of your wants and needs for the session! Additionally, it’s important to book a family photographer you feel comfortable around and have confidence in. That will further benefit you during the session. Be sure to check out their website and see their work so you can know you are getting quality family photos you are sure to love forever!
