If you’ve seen my work, then you should know that my family photography sessions are full of laughter, games, and FUN. Do you know why I’ve set them up this way and what it means for you and the photos you will receive? Well, that’s what I made this blog post is for. Keep reading to find out!
During my outdoor family sessions, I LOVE to have families play games and be natural. However, they aren’t just any old games, they are ones that will get you guys into the position that I want in order to get a great photo! I’m sneaky like that. 😉
That’s perfect! I’ll have them run from behind me, straight to mom and dad who are waiting to either get a big family hug, or to pick up the youngest and swing them in the air. I love capturing photos of children running and playing games.
That’s totally fine! It happens more often than not! I’ll stand back and ask dad to play a fun game of bounce, bounce, stop. Yep, it is played exactly as it sounds and toddlers and little ones love it.
Don’t worry! We can take brain breaks! The kiddos can play a quick games of tag or run around and laugh. Anything that helps get the wiggles out, and I usually always end up getting some great photos from it!
If you’d like to bring a soccer ball for the end of the session, feel free. Even if it’s not necessarily for the photos (although I can get some really cool shots of everyone going for the ball!), it can be more to give the kids something to look forward to at the end and to create a great memory for them.
If you’re in the Nashville, TN Pensacola, FL or Greenville, SC area and would like to book a session, you can check out my packages here or contact me!
[…] One thing to know about going into a photo session with multiple young children – we all need to BE FLEXIBLE! Of course I will have a shot list of “must have” shots. However, if we don’t get them in the exact order that’s on the list, that’s alright! This family was great about rolling with the punches. We let the kids run around and caught them when they were ready. We always end up getting natural looking photos once we give the kids some time to let the kids be kids for a little while. I also believe in having the kids play games during sessions if it calls for a game. Read about it here. […]
