Do need some ideas to help with planning for your maternity photos? Becoming a mother is an exciting time in any woman’s life. When you’re adding to a family, whether you’re pregnant for the first time or you’re adding a wonderful new baby into your family, maternity photography can be a great way to capture special moments during the growth of your family.
When you’re planning to talk to an expert in maternity photography, consider these questions to help you get a better idea of what you want to get out of a photoshoot of you and your baby bump.
One of the easiest ways to get a feel for what kind of maternity photography you want is to search online and look for some examples. You can go for a sweet-and-innocent vibe or opt for something more playful-and-joyful. There’s no wrong answer when it comes to what YOU want! A great maternity photographer will go to great lengths to ensure that you’re happy.
Are you happy to have your newborn in the photos? Do you want to be in the photos with your child? Do you want the rest of your family to be present for the photos? Answering these questions ahead of time can help to narrow down how many photos you will need to take and how long you might like for your session. Maternity photographers should be happy to work with whatever combination of family members you want included.
Think about different landscapes and backgrounds that you want present in your pictures. Do you want something outdoorsy? Do you want the photos to be clean with flat, monochromatic backgrounds? You could also think about where you plan on putting the pictures and how the backgrounds of your future maternity photos will fit in that designated area.
Now is a great time to think about how you will spotlight your baby bump (and/or your family, too). What kind of clothes would you like to wear? How will the colors go together? Are there any significant accessories or family heirlooms that you might want to include in the photos? This is a perfect opportunity to get creative with it!
Getting maternity photography done is an exciting activity and you’ll end up with a number of photos you can cherish for the rest of your life and that your family can enjoy. Don’t hesitate to ask your maternity photographer for help if you want to narrow down ideas for your photoshoot.
