When is the best time for newborn photos?
Typically the first 2 weeks (8-10 days is a sweet spot) is ideal for newborn sessions, when they're still in the squishy and sleepy phase. We can certainly do later, and I have done sessions for 3-4 week olds (especially if they have been in the NICU) and come out of the hospital late. Just be aware that the older they get, the less of a chance they're stay in the swaddle.
 
What will baby wear?
No worries about what baby will wear. They will be swaddled for most of it! Feel free to bring a favorite headband or accessory if it's a girl, or any sweet little trinket you would like photographed if it's a boy. If you don't have anything, that's fine too, I have some on hand!

How should baby arrive?
The best case scenario is to have baby arrive with a full tummy and a little sleepy. If baby is asleep upon arrival, I will likely do their individual shots first on the beanbag, then family photos after. If baby is awake, I will most likely do family photos first then do their individual photos at the end, when they're a little sleepy.

Shoes 
These sessions will actually be barefoot sessions because of the natural/organic feel of them. Ladies are usually fine with this - the dads usually need a little coaching. It usually feels a bit weird to them to have their shoes off for photos- I totally get it! But it really does look nice in the final gallery. If you need some sample photos to show them what I mean, let me know. 
Also, this isn't a deal breaker. If having shoes off if really an issue, we can leave them on.

How will I go about ordering products?
After each session, you will be given a 3 day ordering appointment window. You will be able to submit your order conveniently and comfortably from your own home. You will have options available to you for digital downloads, heirloom albums, frames wall art portraits and matted albums. 
For albums - you will select your favorite photos and I will curate an album for you, which you will approve before it gets submitted for print.
For wall art - I can show you what different options may look like on your walls.

What should dad wear?
Neutral, earthy tones. For pants, I suggest khaki or tan colored pants or jeans, whichever he's most comfortable in. For a shirt, polos and sweaters usually photograph nicely. I advise to stay away from shirts with large logos or lettering that draws your eye's attention away from him and onto the shirt instead.

Feeding Baby
I'm a mom of little ones too, so I completely understand about feeding baby. You can feed the baby, leave the house, arrive somewhere 10 minutes later and baby is hungry again (especially when they're cluster feeding)! I want to assure you that this is normal and totally okay. If you need to feed baby, I have a room for you to do so. I also have a changing tables, wipes, etc. I'm right there in the beginning stages of parenting along with you. We can take our time with keeping baby content.

Locations
I have two designated locations that I typically shoot at. One is an indoor, all natural light studio. The other is a tall, grassy field at sunset. You will have your choice of either location. However, I do recommend the studio for newborn photos, so we can ensure to get the detail shots and poses of baby on the beanbag.
If you have a family with multiple children, we may opt to split your newborn session into 2 sessions. More information about that will be shared upon inquiry.

Behavior
If you are concerned about your other children's behavior, please don't worry. I've been working with children for many years. I've seen it all. They will not scare me away and I will make sure you get your shots. I will make it as quick and painless as possible. (Just note that if they break or damage anything in the studio location, you may be held accountable for replacing it at the owner's discretion since we are renting out the space).

What if I don't like anything in the wardrobe?
If you really do not like any of the choices on the wardrobe list and have a suggestion, feel free to send it along for me to consider. If you already have an idea on the 2 dress options, please let me know asap, along with your size, as I'll need ample time to order them and get them into the studio for you
