Greenville SC Newborn Session

This was a heartwarming Greenville SC newborn session during the cozy days of winter. This darling baby was brought in during her first 2 weeks of life, which is the perfect timing to bring in a baby for their newborn session.

If you’re wondering how I structure a newborn session, here’s how it usually goes.

The Flow

If baby is asleep and happy: I will swaddle baby and do their sweet shots on the beanbag first. That’s where I will also zoom in and get those darling detail shots (their eyelashes, pouty lips, hairline, etc.).

From there, we will transition to the shots of mom and baby together. These are some of the most precious moments that could be captured on camera. The moments captured between a mother and her newborn baby are some of most profound moments in a lifetime. There is nothing like a mom finally being able to hold her baby in her arms.

Usually by this time, baby may start waking and looking at momma.

If baby arrives awake and hungry, we will spend some time calming baby before getting them into the swaddle. This could be the perfect time for mom and baby shots. After all of the movement, they will typically drift back off to sleep and then we will do the beanbag shots at the end.
